As a full-service residential homebuilder we can take your project from concept to completion, assembling a team that includes an architect and designer handpicked from our network of creative consultants, or we can collaborate with the professionals you bring to the project. Our project management process is comprehensive; we’re with you from the initial concept meetings, through the permitting process, to construction and final inspection.

We have chosen not to operate as a design/build company to give our clients access to the full range of creative talent in the Lower Mainland, and so that you are not restricted to our vision or way of doing things. It also means that we can build in any style – from traditional to modern – and that we can match the skills of our trusted subtrades to your needs and budget.

Our quality control process starts from the moment we assemble your team. We handpick our subtrades to match your project needs, and review the design specifications and quality their work will need to meet. In addition, the site supervisor assigned to your project regularly inspects and supervises the work being done.

One of the things we enjoy most about homebuilding is collaborating with our clients – it’s the juice that fuels us creatively. Over the years, we have learned that all great collaborations start with careful listening. At the beginning of a project we want you to talk more than we do, so that we get a clear picture of what you want and, more importantly, what you hope for. We want to know how you and your family will live, work and play in your new custom home.

We also collaborate with your designer to find ways to meet the design intent of your project using materials and products that allow you to stretch your budget and, perhaps, increase the scope of your project to include features that would not otherwise have been affordable.

Our team makes sure that we create an environment in which you feel comfortable asking questions and raising concerns, and that you receive clear answers. We believe that homeowners deserve to understand the technical issues that affect their design, timeline and budget.

Our goal throughout the project is to find the solutions that work best for you. We give clients the flexibility of choosing a “cost plus” or “fixed cost” contract, and then review your project accounting and contract performance with you on a regular basis. Every client is different in terms of how much they want to be involved in a project and how much they want to know at each step. At Aslan, we adapt our approach to communication based on your needs and give you the option of receiving regular verbal overviews, or detailed written reports.

It’s impossible to foresee all issues that may arise during a project, whether it’s with the site, the City, or a supplier. Whatever the cause, we don’t shy away from discussing the issue or fixing the problem; we are the bottom line. 

We stand by our craftsmanship and quality, which means that we offer the standard 2-5-10 new home warranty, along with our assurance that, if there’s a problem, we’ll fix it. 

How do you choose the right homebuilder for your project? 

Choose someone you feel you can trust and will enjoy working with for several months to a year, depending on the size of your project.

Ask them for references and then be sure to call them. Ask how the builder handled problems, what the quality of their work was, and how good they were at keeping to their proposed budget and schedule. If they went substantially over budget or time, ask why.

Be aware of what your quote includes – is your builder handling all of the project details for you from start to finish? Homebuilding is a price-focused business, but it’s also a relationship business, and the quote you receive from a builder is just the start of your decision process.
